Jazz In The Classroom

Our Mission

To inspire a lifelong passion for music and creative expression while helping eliminate financial barriers to jazz education.

Our Program

Established in 2017, “Jazz In The Classroom” was created to address arts programming funding gaps in under-resourced schools by bringing the Jazz/Afrobeat/World ensemble ‘The Brighton Beat’ to host energetic music clinics and workshops.

Offering the program at no cost to schools, it advances arts equity and ensures that young people regardless of background or school resources can meaningfully engage with music.

We Aim To:

  • Expand student’s knowledge and appreciation of jazz and its broader impact on American music.

  • Develop students’ creative, communication, and performance skills.

  • Play a part in eliminating financial barriers to participation in jazz education and performance.

  • Encourage educational development and personal growth through transferable skills that transcend musical instruction.

  • Offer pathways for talented music students who are considering a career in music to be better equipped for further study.
